Run Annapolis Valley

The Running Community of Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada

I could feel rather wimpy right now if I dwell on the achy feeling in my body's lower half. Oh I can take satisfaction in the fact that this old broad can run 29k and come home to plan what next weekend's 32k route should be.
I do feel sorry for those who must train in the towns and cities. If any of you valley types have been sticking to sidewalk running or the main roads in town during the past 4 months because you expected them to be plowed, salted or sanded, now is the time to get out on those almost empty back country roads that are everywhere. Very early this morning we took a loop route from Canning- Sheffield Mills- Woodside-Pereau- Canning that was just beautiful and will be even more so in a few more weeks. Some hills, lots of eagles, ducks, woodpeckers, noisy but well behaved dogs, except for a very small black dog who was determined to show who was boss but did not succeed. BYO TP - there are no Tim Horton's or service stations along these back roads.

Janet - what a great day it was for a run, wasn't it? I did 8km this morning and it was absolutely beautiful. Your run sounds great, such a long distance for us newbies to imagine! Good luck with the rest of your marathon training.
