Hi Walter -
I just read that for every pound you lose, a healthy runner (that is one that isn't UNDERweight) will race 2 seconds faster per mile, based on max VO2. Interesting, eh? Thought I'd share that info with you after our conversation at the track.
Hi Walter -
Yes, unfortunately the race was shorter than last year. I ended up a minute and half faster than last year and wish I could say it was 5k, but I measured it at 4.75k. Last year I ran 20:30 and this year I was 19:01. But still, I would have been 20:05 if I maintained the same pace for 250m more. What would your time have been based on your finish time and distance of 4.75? I'm pleased!
I expect to hear in the next couple of days which night my son has soccer and I will then some other night. We will post something when the day has been decided on. Would be glad to have you join in.
Hi Walter -
No intervals set for this week but if you get this message in the next couple of minutes (!) you could head to Wolfville where Ed James is doing a track workout tonight. He's going to check out the situation at Acadia tonight and then he actually will be the one setting up the intervals. (He's my husband).
Will post the time and days ASAP!
