The group run is at 9am and we run 5, 6.5, 8.5 or 10km. You can build yourself up by coming out to the weekly runs and doing some running during the week. That's great that you have been so active and you should have no problem with the running.

Susan I probably won't be with the group in the morning. We take a monthly trip to Lockhartville for the community breakfast. I'll do my run when we get back.

What's Your Story?

I took up running in the winter of 2006 at which time I couldn’t run to the end of my 1km driveway. My goal was to run to the end of my driveway without stopping and I have not stopped since those days. It was not an easy feat because I was not an overly active person and I ran by myself. My only motivator was within and most people thought there was something wrong with me wanting to run. In those early days, I had pains in my sides (stitches) and sweat pouring off me – constantly stopping and… Continue

Any chance I could get a drive with you to Windsor? What time are you going (7:30?) and would you be coming right home after you pick up all your trophies? I could meet you at your place... let me know.

Hi Susan...
I would be interested in hosting the Meet and Greet if you were planning on having it at a private home. We have lots of room. Pool could be open too if people wanted to bring their kids. I know Sheffield Mills isn't the most central location though so I totally understand if you want to have it closer to town. I definitely want to be there.

Hi Susan ---
Ed is going to be leading intervals at the Acadia track on Tuesday's nights, 7PM starting next week, July7th. He and Pat will be there for sure this week. Not sure if I'm attending or not. Ed did a few track workouts last month at Acadia and it was no problem to get on. Everyone just seemed pleased that the track was being put to good use.
PS Congrats on your awesome run yesterday! What was your tpk??

Hi Susan! Ed is at the Acadia track tonight meeting some Canada Games athletes to help them with their hurdle technique (he is a previous - 1989!!! - Canada Games medalist in the 400m hurdles). Anyways, he is sussing out the track, seeing how easy it is to get on. He actually is more keen on interval training this summer and is willing to lead a group interval workout. Will let you know what he finds out tonight.
Hope you're all recovered from your marathon. What's next?
I am slow to recover. Spent 2 weeks running easy and then got a sinus infection! I've been running but not too fast. Will take the garmin out again soon.
