Training's started late! Lots of track work and threshold runs, but I'm only going to get two long-enough runs in before May 17. Darn race schedule!

Hey everyone! For those of you training for the Blue Nose Half - it's 5 weeks until race day!!!! How's training going??
Paula James Comment by Paula James on March 8, 2009 at 1:59pm
Pretty much my own creation - with the runner's world smart coach as a starting point. I've got a weekly tempo run, hills, intervals (starting in a couple of weeks) and a long run in there. I just run 4x per week and focus more on quality runs than lots of miles. Probably cause I'm still a sprinter at heart deep down!

Finally registered for Blue Nose - Paula - what's the 10 week schedule you're following?
Paula James Comment by Paula James on February 25, 2009 at 10:53pm
Faxed my entry for the Blue Nose. It's official! But I won't officially start my training for that race for a couple of weeks. I've decided on doing a 10 week training plan. Still in maintenance mode right now. Can't wait for clear roads. It's going to be cold for a long while but I'd just be happy to see bare pavement! Not long for that. Today sure was beautiful!

My Goal is to do the 1/2 Marathon this May in Halifax. Have ran this distance a few times in the last 6 months, but not in an official race.

Everyone is invited to attend a FREE 1 hour work-shop tomorrow night, February 16th 6PM at Alpha Chiropractic - 1460 Belcher Street in Port Williams. Avid runner and mountain biker, Dr. Tyler Jones will give you the hands on tools you need to safely increase your core strength and build a leaner and fitter you , as well as teach you how to achieve and maintain a healthy spine.
I'll be there, hope to see you too.
If you are interested, just call the Alpha office tomorrow - 542-LIFE - and leave a message with your name and intention to attend.

My goal is to come in at 1:55 in the Bluenose. It'll be my third 1/2, having just started running 1 1/2 yrs ago.
